Qualifying graduates of the program can receive an SES appointment without further competition.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Some of the changes that the new rule makes to the program include:\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Authorize OPM to create a governmentwide SESCDP.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Specify that an agency SESCDP must last between 12 to 24 months and increase the number of executive training hours from 80 to 100.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Require a minimum of 10 hours each for coaching and mentoring as well as a continuous 180-day assignment outside of the scope of the candidate\u2019s \u201cposition of record.\u201d\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>OPM officials argued in the rule that these changes are necessary to promote standardization across agency SESCDPs.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cInconsistencies among SESCDPs have yielded mixed results across participating agencies.
